TRENTON — A doctor under investigation for allegedly conducting unauthorized research on disabled patients
at a state institution is also under scrutiny for a study he co-wrote in 1995, a spokeswoman for the Human Services Department confirmed
Wednesday.
In the 1995 report published in the Annals of Clinical Psychology,
Philip May and five other researchers wrote about a study involving 23
men at the Hunterdon Developmental Center, whom they had weaned off
anti-psychotic medication to measure their degree of aggressive behavior
and whether the drug was necessary.
