Parents Oppose Closing of N.J. Center
VINELAND, N.J. — When the parents of 55-year-old Vineland Developmental Center (VDC)resident Karen Lee Coletti take her for car rides, she uses her limited speaking ability to ask to return to "school," what she calls her home for the past 29 years.
Vito and Mary Coletti make trips 100 miles each way from their home in Middlesex County to the VDC twice a month to see their daughter, who has low-functioning autism, and they hope she will be able to continue living there despite proposed closure of the developmental center.
